GENERAL RULES
1. Registration begins at 8:00 AM. Axe throwing prelims start at 9:00AM
2. Age limit: 16 or older.
3. Judges may limit entries on the basis of wood supply.
4. Contestants must furnish their own tools.
5. Ties will be broken by competing again (money positions only).
6. Decisions of the judges shall be final in all matters pertaining to these contests.
7. All chainsaw contestants will be required to wear eye protection, leg protection, and hearing protection.
8. Contestants competing for “All Aroostook Logger” must show proof of residence.

Contests
001 Horizontal Chopping
Contestants will be judged on the time it takes to cut completely through a timber
002 Women’s Horizontal Chopping
003 Axe Throwing
The Axe Throw will be bracketed with the top eight men and top eight women from the prelims.

004 Women’s Axe Throwing
005 Pulp Throwing
Each Contestant will have a stick of pulpwood to be thrown. Judging to be for the longest distance. Contestants throwing pulpwood landing outside the boundary lines will be disqualified.
006 Women’s Skillet Throwing
007 Crosscut Saw
Contestant will be judged on the time it takes them to cut of (2) block from a timber
008 Vertical Chop
Rules same as Horizontal Chop
009 Bucksaw
Contestants will be judged on the time it takes them to cut block from timber.
010 Women’s Bucksaw
011 Women’s Stock Chainsaw
This event is a women’s only event. Contestants will make (2) cuts from a timber within lines pre-marked, using stock chainsaw. Saws may not be altered in any way. (Stock) saws must be on the ground and running. Chainsaw will be provided.
012 Log Rolling
Two person teams will use peavey or cantdogs to propel the log by any means. The log shall be rolled from two starting stakes to two stakes 30 feet away and back again to the starting points. The log must touch all four stakes. If the log rolls over the boundary lines, the team will be disqualified. No part of the contestant’s body may touch the logs.
013 Open Chain Saw, Including Modified
Contestants will make (3) cuts from a timber. Cuts must be made between lines placed by judges. Saws must be on the ground and not started until the “go” signal.
014 Tea Boiling – Doubles Event
Two person teams will have (5) matches, a block of dry wood, and his/her axe. Disqualification will result if wood is before the signal go. This event is limited to 20 teams.
015 Overall Logger
Will be determined by the number of points each contestant has received.
1st Place – 6 points
2nd Place – 5 points
3rd Place – 4 points
4th Place – 3 points
5th Place – 2 points
6th Place – 1 points
016 All-Aroostook LoggerWill be determined the same as (015) but contestants must be from Aroostook County. Proof of residence required.
017 Women’s Overall Logger
Awarded to the woman that places the best overall.
018 The Wilson Clark Award
A plaque will be given to a person who exemplifies a supportive and positive attitude and encourages the spirit of growth for competition lumberjack events. This award will be given based on a voting by the competitors and judges.
